Gobblers, I happened to be on Miss Appropriation yesterday and missed the
thread on Yacht Rock Radio. Of course that channel is quite often being piped through the old girl's audio system. Anyhoo there was a comment that the DJ sounding a bit like a graduate of The University. Actually that DJ has more of a Thurston Howell accent, and not the Virginia brogue heard on The Grounds and the various Firms in The Commonwealth. Remember the Virginia accent is characterized by replacing the hard "er" at the end of words with an "ah" sound.
Such as "when we were young"ah" went spent summ "ahs" at The Riv"ah". Words with an "out" or "oat" will sound more like an "oot". An example would be "The Miss Appropriation is a large b"oot" with a length of a"boot" sixty feet. I hope this is helpful when you converse with us.
