Got laid off


Taught me that when life hands you lemons, make lemonade. I liked working at Marshall's though. The shoe dept was mostly where I hung out. I mostly did price checks and unloaded boxes into the store inventory.

Anyway, I got laid off after about 2 months. The store manager said they had to let the new people go. I then got a job at the AAA doing telesales and absolutely killed it(it was the early 80s). Went from $3.50 an hour at Marshall's to about $10/hr once I got my book of business going.

Valuable lesson.....
