Virginia Tech has been associated with four athletic conferences for wrestling since 1921.....Southern Conference (1929-1965), Colonial Athletic Association (1991-1998), Eastern Wrestling League (1999-2003), Atlantic Coast Conference (2004-Present). In the gaps, VT was classified as an Independent. Each conference provided some tough competition with some still prominent in the sport ....Southern(VA, UNC, NCST), Colonial(ODU, American) and Eastern(Edinboro, Lock Haven and Pitt).
