That was one dumb moment for my normally smart wife. We had a light


with 3 - 60 watt incandescent bulbs in it. I replaced them with 3 "75 Watt Equivalent" LED bulbs and she was mad for me putting the family at risk and burning out the light / causing a fire, whatever.

Even though the 75 Watt Equivalent bulbs were really only using something like 9 to 12 watts.

The limit is the power being used - not the light it actually emits.
