Flight plan equip codes and naviation, communication and approach
for our flight today.I don't actually file the flight plan, our dispatchers do, but I used to have to do this when I was flying P-3s. Of course, the P-3 had a fraction of the equipment and capabilities the B777 has.
B77L (Boeing 777-F Freighter)
/H (Heavy > 300,000lbs)
(equip codes NAV/COM/APR)
S - Standard Equipment (Standard equipment is VOR, VHF, and ILS)
D - DME (distance measuring equip.)
ACARS:
E1 - FMC WPR (Flight. Management Computer Way Point Reporting)
E2 - D-FIS (databank flight info services)
E3 - PDC (pre-departure clearance)
F - ADF (Automatic Direction Finding - mostly phased out now in aviation)
G - GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems - GPS is a type of GNSS)
H - HF RTF (radio telephone)
I - INS (Inertial navigation system)
CPDLC (Controller-Pilot datalink communication):
ATN (limited datalink service, used mostly in Europe)
J1 - VDL Mode 2
FANS 1/A (Future Air Navigation System -used around the world, required many places)
J2 - HFDL (HF datalink)
J3 - VDL Mode A (VHF)
J4 - VDL Mode 2 (VHF)
J5 - Satellite Inmarsat (SATCOM)
ATC Satvoice
M1 - Inmarsat
RCP- R(eq’d communication performance)
P1 - RCP400
P2 - RCP240
P3- RCP400 (Satvoice)
X - MNPS (minimum navigation performance specifications)
Y - 8.33 kHz VHF
Z - Other Cap
W- RVSM (reduced vertical seperation minimums - altitude separation)
