If you were wearing an N95 mask for the purposes of avoiding infection
for yourself then that would be correct. Not having the mask properly fitted to your face and touching it would be an issue. You could also only wear it once and then would have to throw it out or sanitize it using special equipment.
But that doesn't apply to the non-N95 (cloth or surgical) masks we're being asked to wear. They're not supposed to protect you from infection. You wear them to block your spittle (droplets) from shooting into the air and infecting others.
