China is an economic discussion.. Access to their cheap labor and 1.5 BIL

People that they can't support from a food standpoint. The bigger question there is how do we enable more fair trade to offset the labor advantage they have through the use of virtual slave labor that forces lower skilled people in the US to not have access to decent paying manufacturing jobs and drives up welfare rolls.

Saudi to me is more a question of maintaining some influence in the region with the closest thing to a rational government. If we leave, Iran and Russia will have the influence and that would make it harder for us to have any business in the region, not to mention pretty much removing any ability to impact terrorism. I'd personally love to see the US completely abandon the ME and let them kill each other, but that wont happen so we have to work with the tallest midget so to speak. I just wish we would be more honest about that and use the trust but verify mindset in dealing with them.
