Most of us are free to leave. As a contractual employee he has no choice. I totally disagree with his attitude, but his situation, like all pros, is different. He should just say, sorry I can't play and risk getting fired, or play at the going rate. And give must of that back as a donation for the wage workers employed by MLS teams.
