OK. Let's discuss that -

There is always a cost associated with a benefit. I stated in a post here back in March when I saw where this was all going, the governor's are free to decide what is best for their neck of the woods. They also must face the consequences of their policy decisions.

The original intent was "bend the curve". That was fine to help health care get ramped up. Somewhere along the way it's now become "eradicate the virus". Which is not going to happen. Some governor's policies are effectively a death sentence for businesses in their states. Citizens can put up with taxes skyrocketing or watch essential services, many of which you listed collapse.

One state in particular, is a huge % of cases and fatalities. The governor forced c19 positive folks back into elder care homes. Done fully aware of the risks c19 posed to elder folks and the state of infection control in those facilities. This order was just rescinded this week. I await to hear an apology for the literally thousands of fatalities this idiotic policy caused. It borders on negligence.

If states wish to continue with the idiocy, that's fine. Why should someone in say North Dakota pay for it?
Secondly, if there is no "fiscal" downside (notice I don't say economic) why would anyone reopen at all? (Rhetorical question - $$ doesn't make a nurse, or a barrel of oil, or powdered metals, or...)
