Brandon Glover's place in VT history
Brandon Glover was Tech’s first All-American in wrestling. At the 1959 NCAA Championships in Iowa City he was the #3 seed at 130 pounds. That #3 seed would stand as VT's highest seed for 43 years. Brandon wrestled to seed (3rd) to become the first HOKIE to gain the podium. At that time, VT wrestled in the Southern Conference where Brandon was a 4 time champion (1957-60) and undefeated in his SC duel meet career, 26-0. Virginia Tech Sports inducted him into the Hall of Fame in 1988. The first wrestler to be so honored.
