I think it's moot if health officials swung Trump to extend the restriction

The virus is sweeping through states and raising conditions to emergency levels one by one. They'll act based on local information and advice from health officials, regardless of what Washington does. Washington's role is to be supportive.

In the end, not doing lockdown will result in so many cases that business will shut down anyways due to fear, hoarding, and employee absences. Better to have a controlled orderly lockdown than a chaotic one.
