Which may be bad news for sports.

I thought I had lost interest in sports before this virus outbreak. Now I realize I care even less than I did before. I agree with you - I think a lot of people will re-evaluate their priorities, and there may be many people who don't "come back" to sports, at least not in the same capacity as before.

It will be interesting to watch, but as someone else posted, this may be the catalyst for a huge restructuring of money in sports and entertainment. I'd be fine with that. I'm all about the free market, but professional athletes' salaries have gotten out of hand. And I don't blame the athletes...I blame our society for placing so much emphasis on the games they play. If people begin to devote their time to other interests, I think we will see much more reasonable pay scales. And the same goes for college coaches...if the 2020 football season gets cancelled, universities are going to be in a world of hurt because of the huge contracts they're married to with their athletic staffs.

On the other hand, I may be totally wrong. People may be so starved for an outlet or distraction that by the time sports leagues start up again, we may see a huge influx of fans desperate to get out of the house and tune everything out for a few hours. Who knows.
