What makes you say the "normal flu is far worse"? Everything I've read

seems to indicate that the coronavirus is both more contagious and more lethal than the normal flu. And plenty is done about the normal flu... you listed one thing in your post. Continuing to compare this to the "normal flu" with incorrect facts is a huge part of the problem here.
