David burst on the scene so tremendously his freshman year and has been so consistent. Add to that the fact that he wears his emotions on his sleeves, really pulling the crowd and team along with him. He is extraordinarily likable on and off the mat. Because of all that I think so many VT fans are emotionally invested in this young man. We so badly want him to experience the top of the podium every time, like the feeling Mekhi had last year, and when he comes up just short of the top prize, like Jared two years ago, it stings more. Lets hope he finishes the season well and becomes our first four-timer!
