This is the ACC not a little conference, you have to be strong and tough or you will not survive. I really think if he could get an assistant that has more of an edge and preferably a little older with good experience it could help him. He does not have the personality type to be that feisty coach that we sometimes need and neither do the assistants from what I have seen. It is like they are scared to go off on these kids when they need it. I have a feeling if he stays loyal to his staff it is going to eventually backfire. This is not JMU. Normally by now even on the past two coaches staffs there were assistants that got hired somewhere else and moved on. I don't know if our assistants have turned down possible job opportunities elsewhere or not. But I have a feeling they are very secure here because they feel their job is not on the line with Brooks in control. He can't let that happen. It doesn't seem like any team is jumping at the opportunity to get one of our assistants. People underestimate how important the assistants are to the success of the head coach and the team.
