The guys actually scored more than the ladies at ACCs (109-105)...

but the FSU men were loaded.

NCAAs for T&F is very different from conference meets. Conference meets are won with depth (having studs helps, of course), but at NCAAs, you need a handful of elite guys/gals because it’s so difficult to score. Last year 20 points would get you in the top 10 for men or women. NCA&T was 7th on the women’s side with 18 points as they had one lady win the 200 and get second in the 60 hurdles.

On the men’s side, VT could score with:
Patterson in the 400 (could finish top 5, dark horse to win)
Zarate in the mile (will be difficult to score, but he’s a good racer)
Seufer in the 3k or 5k (I assume he will just do one of the two. He has a shot to contend in either one)
DMR (very difficult to predict as some schools don’t run their top teams as they try to keep their best individuals fresh for their other events).

On the women’s side, VT could score with:
Tate in the 400 (ran a super race on Saturday, outside shot to score)
Edwards in the mile (longshot, but a smart racer)
Freix in the 5k (longshot)
DMR (see above. Outside shot).
Baxter in the Pole Vault (she has the 2nd best vault on the year. Anything can happen with the PV, but she is the best chance for the ladies to score).

Hard to predict (for me), but it will be fun to watch.
