Been fly fishing since 2006, picked up Tenkara about 3 years ago.

I grew up fishing salt and when I moved to the NRV in 2006, rekindled my love of fishing after a 15 year absence. Tons of great fly fishing in SW VA.

I highly recommend Tenkara if you're fishing small trout streams in SW VA. I found myself mostly just roll casting, even with a 7'6" 3wt due to cover and stream size. The Tenkara slingshot is a much easier/more accurate way to get into those tight spots. Those small VA brookies feel a little larger on the Tenkara as well.

What are some of your favorite trout streams?
