is a 5 star player who couldn't beat out other players for playing time still a five star player?

I know there are some cases where the roster is loaded with equally ranked or better players. There are also cases where it's a freshman who entered the portal after growing impatient or for academic or off-field issues (or problems with the coach). I am speaking generally, and I would argue that if a five star player with very little talent on the depth chart ahead of him doesn't get playing time then he is a recruiting miss. That said, maybe a guy like that would find a better fit here, who knows. I trust the coaches to make the proper evaluations themselves. Regardless of ranking, I trust them to get the best players they can that are the best fit for VT, even if that has seemed a little shaky as of late.
