I like most fans, would love if Virginia tech got one or two 5-star recruits each season.
Even one 5 star athlete can create alot of buzz and media attention for your program and this can energize recruiting for other players etc. All good stuff.

That being said, if we look past the buzz, I would argue that a portaled 4 or 5 star athlete is probably just as healthy for our program, and probably a better fit than many entitled top athletes looking for immediate playing time.

Receiving a branding as a top athlete, and then getting humbled by a program, and fighting for a second chance at a more mature age, would be a perfect fit for Virginia tech's blue collar work ethic, and I hope our staff continues to look for these diamonds in the rough, to help compensate for not getting top recruits straight out of highschool.

Honestly, I just think they fit our program better.
