Since it's a tasting, I'd lean toward something that is a bit outside


the mainstream.

Good choices from the mainstream would be Wild Turkey 101, Bullett, Elijah Craig, Woodford Reserve, Makers Mark, or Knob Creek

If you want slightly outside the mainstream, Buffalo Trace (if you can find it), Eagle Rare (if you can't find Buffalo Trace), Four Roses Single Barrel, Larceny, and I recently tried Woodford Reserve Double Oaked and really liked it.

Larceny is my go-to right now. Fairly inexpensive, readily available, very good, and not something you see people drinking all that often.
