My son plays on a pretty talented youth football league,
I coach them in some capacity and find myself waking up every Saturday morning and thinking about things which piss me off just so my bad mood during the game will rub off on the team. It is exhausting for me, but it seems the only way I can get them to play all out and not play like it is recess.
My point is, I think kids are less competitive now a days. I believe this is a byproduct of participation trophies.
I keep telling my son all the time I would have killed to have had half of his athletic ability, because no one would beat me. Every now and then he gets mad and turns it loose (made 50% of tackles against the championship team himself from DT) but he mostly likes to just play.
Frustrating...... [Post edited by Pulling Hokie at 01/26/2020 11:45AM]
