First of all, I know nothing


This is just my speculation. At the end of the season, Whit meets with each coach to review the season and the coach's performance. I think that Whit have her a "tough" review, and laid out some lofty goals for the next year.

After the review and upon reflection, Jill realized that the job was over her head, so she decided to make a change. Perhaps she went back to Whit and even negotiated some severance in return for her resignation.

That is the way things like this should be handled in a professional organization.
