I wonder if hitters at Virginia Tech and elsewhere in college baseball are being asked today to adjust their swings for more power, just as they are in the major leagues. There has been a significant surge in home runs in MLB the past couple of years due in part to a data-driven change in hitting philosophy. Perhaps college players on average don't have as much strength to make that adjustment worth it. .
