Folks arguing about whether your message should be directed to the AD or someone at the Hokie Club have missed the point. Folks quibbling with your percentages or dollar amounts have also missed the point.

The point is the people responsible for effectively getting the message out and increasing donations are failing. Today was the first day I've received an email from the Hokie Club asking for a donation in years. Like yours, my graduate school reaches out all the time. I have received hundreds more mailings, phone calls and emails from my graduate school than I have from VT.

I don't have good solutions but it also is not my job to find those solutions. Many people, including our AD (fundraising clearly falls under his umbrella), are getting paid to figure it out!
