Thanks. My thoughts. Back in the 80's, yes, I figured Strummer wat THE key


guy in the band, and I still certainly see him as important, but over time I've moved Mick Jones up to a tie with him.

In the 80's Joe was the front man, and they get the most attention. There were also rumors about Mick needing to be bribed to actually go on stage at concerts, and so on.

But then Mick left / was kicked out / whatever, and "Cut the Crap" kinda sucked. So much so that it's not even included in the Clash career "Box Set". Mick also went on to Big Audio Dynamite, and I REALLY like a lot of their stuff too. Mick has been much more successful post breakup than Joe has.

Then a documentary I saw revealed more about the band and their relationships, bringing to light that Strummer was pretty difficult to work with.

Given the post Clash success, and some more insight into band history, my opinion changed to give more credit to Mick Jones.
