Let me say you guys have been doing the best job in the industry!
The #1 job any automobile needs to do is to start when you turn the key. I would rather make it home everyday than have a second quicker quarter mile time.
My first new Toyota was my 94 Truck with a 22RE engine. Unfortunately I did have one problem, where the timing chain cog lost several teeth. I installed a LC Engineering "dual roller" timing chain conversion kit, which basically corrected Toyota's mistake when they went from a dual roller (with the 22R?) to a single roller with the 22RE.
All Toyota engines should (a) have a timing chain, and (b) have a dual roller timing chain. I don't own a vehicle with a timing belt, and probably never will. I want the durability and reliability of a timing chain, and will sacrifice silence for it.
Also continue to make serviceable a key aspect of Toyota engines. Make it easy to do simple tasks, like change the oil & oil filter. (Take the oil filter location on the 4.0 V6 truck engine as a prime example...keep doing that!!!!!)
I've heard the new 2.0L engine is very efficient...one of the most efficient engines on the market. Great job!
Whatever you do, always remember to keep reliability as your #1 priority.
