Absolutely not, C-burg aside, Virginia has been pretty much of a wasteland.


All four of these guys were not ranked in HS and so very little scholarship money went into them. BCL grayshirted and is in his fifth year with VT and has one more left. All of these guys were signed as depth guys and are starting. Prata is starting because of Kyle Nostrem's (and Myers) injury and is allowing Sam Latona to redshirt and get some experience. Gerardi was recruited as a plan b and beat some. major folks. Smeltzer bulked up to 197, because Dunn left and Howard hasn't pulled it together. Aside from the Cburg guys, Virginia guys just don't start for us. I think you have to go back to Chris Penny for the last non cburg starter. So, Virginia HAS improved......but that doesn't mean we stop drawing from PA, OH and NJ. But, but the same token, we shouldn't stop going after guys like Wittenberg, Andy Smith and Nathan Warden and see if they can hold their own in the room.
