If ABC were to offer

$300 million CBS will most likely not be able to just match or slightly exceed that bid to retain the rights. Not sure what the value of the following will be to the SEC but, a deal with ABC essentially locks up the Mouse for the SEC and gives them widespread flexibility and leverage regarding slots across ABC and the suite of ESPN Channels, including the SEC network. If that were to happen(SEC to ABC) I expect that CBS would make a beeline to the Big 10 offices to see if they could get a deal for that 3:30 slot. I think the reasonable goal for the ACC is to position themselves to be third in the pecking order and no worse than fourth. Football is driving the bus and the SEC and Big Ten clearly have the front two seats. That is a dynamic that is unlikely to change barring additional conference realignment or a massive improvement in the depth of the ACC and Big 12 conferences. I think the PAC 12 is clearly the fifth spot at present and facing massive challenges/obstacles stemming from geography and infrastructure both conference and institution specific.
