The last two years at 165 he is 42-3. I feel that is pretty dominating...

Granted it isn't Kyle Dake numbers. But only 3 losses that is pretty good. If you want to include is redshirt season then he is 48-5.

I don't consider either Bolen or DMF's True Freshmen seasons, as I feel that isn't an accurate representation of either wrestler. As they both are having to acclimate to college wrestling.

DMF's only losses are to at 165 in the last 3 years are to Joseph(National Champ that year) by 2 points, Marstellar by 2 points (elite talent that Lewis is 0-2 against), and now this year to Smith. The Smith match wasn't a great showing, and we all would like at that match and say that DMF would win that one again easily. I don't think DMF was mentally ready, Robie said as much. Smith was riding high with his back against the wall. With that said Smith just took 4th at CKLV, and took the winner to TB2. So he isn't necessarily a slouch.

You are correct to point out that he had close matches against some inferior opponents lately. I just don't think he is quite back on top of his game yet. With that said McFadden has proven that he can beat the elite level wrestlers in his weight class. Everyone except for the favorite of which he was only 2 points away from two years ago.

That is why I think he has a better chance to win this year than Bolen does this year, especially given that Zahid is on a different level. I think Bolen has a chance and can easily beat everyone else, though I am interested to see how Brooks shakes out. I just don't think he can get over the Zahid hump.... I hope he proves me wrong.
