The manufacturing jobs have all moved to Mexico and China.


The working conditions in the oak tree were terrible anyways so most of the elves relocated to the north pole to pick up the slack in the workshop around the holidays. It's seasonal work and they only get about 20 hours a week so Santa doesn't have to pay benefits.

All the action in the cookie market has shifted to the girl scouts. It's impossible to compete with the free labor and those little brats are too young and idealistic to unionize.
