Hokie Golf Review - Wagner Albatross, Vincent top 3
Johnson Wagner tied a PGA Tour record with his third career albatross (-3 on a hole), on the 15th hole of his first round at the RSM Classic. Unfortunately that was his only highlight as he missed his fourth cut in five attempts this season and won't get any more starts until the West Coast swing in January.
Once again, the Japan Tour was plagued by rain and the Dunlop Phoenix event was shortened to 54 holes. Scott Vincent finished in a two-way tie for third, winning 8.7 million yen (~$80,080) to move up to 13th on the money list with two events remaining in the season.
He should also get 9.1 world ranking points, which would be the third highest points in his career. He should get a bump up to around 15-20 spots from his current 146th. His career best ranking was 135, about 14 months ago. So, he should have his career best ranking when the new rankings come out Sunday night. I don't currently don't see him in the fields of any upcoming events, but there are four active tours he has status where he might appear soon (European, Sunshine, Asian or Japan).
