I am in the middle of the refinance process with CapCenter right now. This would be the third time I've refinanced with them, but it may be the final time I ever work with them. The first two refinances went as smoothly as I could have ever hoped, but this time has been a complete debacle. The night before my original closing date, I received a phone call from my loan officer saying that they had sent out some of the paperwork in the incorrect order, which meant my loan closing was going to have to be rescheduled and we were going to have to start the application process all over again. That was frustrating enough, especially since their website would not let me log into the same account I had already created for the original paperwork. We finally got it sorted out and my closing was rescheduled for this afternoon.

Well I just got a call from CapCenter saying they screwed up again and we are going to have to do the paperwork all over AGAIN and reschedule the closing. At this point I'm over the whole thing and if I could walk away without losing any money, I would. Unfortunately then I would have to forfeit all of the closing costs that they typically waive.

I'm waiting for a call back from the loan officer now. I'm going to ask that they let me re-lock my rate at today's quotes, as they have dropped since I locked in. I think that is the least they should do for me.

Anyway, rant over. If you're thinking about refinancing soon, I would recommend you look at options other than CapCenter. I'm not sure what has happened to them, but they seem to be incompetent now.
