I'm actually a bit shocked the pediatrician is letting her

We welcomed our daughter on the 7th of this month at 4lbs. 8oz. Upon leaving the hospital she was 4lbs 5oz. (perfectly normal since all babies lose in the immediate). First checkup on the Monday after birth and she was still 4lbs 5oz. They had us come in a couple days later on Saturday for another check just because she was small to begin with and then our normal 2 week exam the following Wednesday but after the first "weigh in" they were perfectly fine not seeing her again until her next, regular appointment.

Heck, wife and I were excited to give birth so we could stop being in the hospital 1-2 times a week. Not sure what it would take to have me going in for multiple weigh ins per week.

ETA: Checking weight in a baby (just like an adult) every day or every couple of days is going to drive her nuts. There's a reason they say to weigh yourself only about once a week (or, in some cases, once a month). There are too many factors that could change what it reads out. They'd only do a weight estimate for our daughter while in utero every 3 weeks because there was no way they'd get an accurate growth measurement doing it week to week.
