They weren't being artistically honest. I only watched the first few episodes though, and they said everything was the greatest song ever, and quite honestly in my opinion most of the songs sucked. I appreciate and love all kinds of music though, from alternative/indie, to pop, rap and even death metal so I'm not biased based on the type of songs. Songs will give me a certain vibration or feeling and most of the songs were dead to me. The famous musicians were always fawning over the contestants. I didn't care for the format either where "everyone wins".
