Another month until peak hurricane season. I've been studying


...okay...I'll appropriately soften that to "looking into" ...the phenomenon of Saharan dust. That cloud of dust saves our bacon this time of year quite often, making hurricane formation very difficult in the dry air. There have been lots of tropical waves forming this week, for those of us that watch such things, that are, or will be, duds. I know the big spike in hurricane activity will be here in about 2 weeks, and I was trying to find patterns as to the end of dust cloud formation.

Aaaand...I ran into the gem below. Hmmm...
