coming out of downtown on rush hour one evening, traffic was the worst I have ever seen it. turns out that the route taken to/from the airport went under several overpasses and the secret service had all of them closed, with men stationed on the overpass to ensure no one was able to perch and take a shot. Just comes with the territory these days.

Also, up in DC one year when Gorsuch was going through hearings for his nomination and Trump was going back and forth from the white house to senate building a bunch - almost enough where it seemed like he was circling the block. We watched the massive motorcade go by while our cab was stopped at the intersection. The driver says, "you know it's the president because the helicopter always follows..." sure enough, after about 10 motorcycles and a few SUV's roll by, there goes the limo with a helicopter overhead, followed by another set of SUV's and motorcycles. I know that costs a ton, but none of that is on the president himself.
