I agree, not practical or feasible

but the rest would only be worse because if they tried they would initially come after the mostly legally owned guns in more rural areas, the low hanging fruit - "Look we did something" not the hard to find/trace guns - those that kill those the greatest overall numbers in urban crime areas, crimes that sadly don't make the news. Concentrate the efforts where most crimes occur.
