Prof. Walt O'Brien died this morning...

For those that were not fortunate enough to know him, Walt was Professor in Mechanical Engineering at VT for the past 52 years. He got his BS in ME from VT in 1960, then an MS at Purdue before returning to VT to get his PhD. He started as a Prof in the fall of 1967, and he continued with his teaching and research through this past spring (and this summer I believe).

Prof. O'Brien was an exceptional professor and individual (see link below). Without going into detail he changed my life considerably (for the better). I will miss him.
