Some valid points....
I will defer on points 3 and 4 to the people actively involved and as I said earlier that is not a rep you want to sustain a program long term. On #1 I am aware of the pylons of promise and the commitment. Do those actually carry the force of NCAA mandated rule or more policy subject to preference or future revision at institution preference. On #2 while that is the literal rule the actual practice is decidedly less restrictive and VT's own J.D. Mundy is one of numerous examples. I concur with what seems to be your feeling that churn and burn is not a long term formula for building a program, however, it appears you have more going on with that opinion than just a personal philosophical difference.
