Used, as in "got a six-month contract through them and then perm gig?"
You're probably familiar with Apex history and relationship with Tech.
I've never used them myself, but know a lot of people that have and are in that industry. if your friend is looking for a job and has been offered one through Apex, there's probably nothing that can be done about the short-term benefits. Friend might be able to negotiate rate with staffing company. Staffing company is paid X by employer, they pay their person Y, and keep the difference. X is negotiated by staffing company based on candidate, and Y is negotiated between staffing/employee. if your buddy is a strong candidate, might be able to get a higher rate, especially if short term benefits are less than other companies are providing. Staffing company should know how realistic it is that job will turn full time, and if friend is a good employee, staffing company wants them to go full-time when possible. Helps build that relationship between staffing company and employer, and staffing company gets one more fee out of it.
