I enjoyed the few games I watched too

However, I do understand why it "failed" because it did kinda lack "star power." At least I am not sure how many AAFL players had a good shot to make a 53-man active NFL roster let alone become a starter for a team.

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if the XFL failed too either because it resorts back to being too gimmicky or it lacks "star power." At this point I am even wondering if the NFL decided to either extend its season into Spring or start a spring league, then the only way it could succeed is if enough stars played. Would NFL fans be excited to see their favorite team play during the Spring if only the back-ups played in the games or do they only want to see the starters play? It may be a valid question to ask given that NFL teams will leave their starters/star players in the entire game/late 4th Quarter even though the game is a blowout and the losing team has no chance to make a comeback.
