Finally getting around to doing my son's estate taxes. Who knows the rules?

What is the best way to get questions answered? I have two so far - hopefully that's it. I know CPRV offered to help but I don't want my procrastination to be put on his shoulders (procrastinating because it's so hard to do anything related to my son's death; doesn't seem to get better with time). Really don't want to walk into someone's office who has a person in a statue of liberty costume out front. I don't know if contacting the IRS directly is the best path - has anyone tried it and are they helpful? Any help would be appreciated.
