Hey guess what? I AM TOO!!!

I have been blessed to supervise some phenomenal...and I mean PHENOMENAL...young employees. I am also typically the person who sticks up for them in the work place since apparently my supervisory skills are now the topic here (?). I, personally, am not having any trouble with young hires, but thank you for your concern. However, I know plenty of people who are...in my field and others. AND, I think it is not that difficult of a concept to grasp that colleges today... especially elite ones...do not always reinforce the types of behaviors that are easily translated to certain workplaces. FYI - not all work environments are the same.

In fact, my statement here...if you can restrain yourself from infusing value judgments into it that aren't there... was actually about BOSSES struggling...not necessarily the merit of the employees. My feeling is that far too often young, creative, and very bright young people who have enormous value to the workplace have not necessarily been well-positioned by their universities (or their parents...but that's another story) to automatically succeed. It IS necessary to develop systems, etc etc. and people of differing generations do NOT automatically understand each other. And "millennials" is an idiotic term (that I didn't use)... technically, most millenials are 30+...it's just a silly label.

But again, congrats on being totally awesome.
