Somehow I missed Into the Badlands on AMC. Catching it on Netflix now


gotta admit, it's gooderly.

I actually watched the old Kung Fu Theater on the weekends when I was growing up. Cheesy as heck, but fun to watch (esp. since I did/still do martial arts).

Into the Badlands is almost like a reboot of Kung Fu Theater (with a little postmodern dystopian steampunk thrown in for flavor), only with decent plotlines and acting instead of 100% cheese (and bad dubbing).

It's got a bit of the "wire-fu" that stretches the limits of plausibility, but the fight choreography is still pretty top-notch.
