Thanks to both of you. i feel the same way about his early books.


I found first editions of his first three at a used book sale, and grabbed those. Time to Kill is one of my all-time favorites. I refuse to actually buy his books anymore b/c I feel like it just puts money is his pocket and encourages him to crank out these (IMO anyway) tired stories just to meet publisher obligations. Some of them start out with promise, and then it's like he realizes "Oh crap, I've got to finish this by next week" and it just ends with many questions unanswered, or characters that just disappear.
