piss poor officiating, we lost because we do not value the ball. 19 turnovers says it all. I do not have any official numbers but I am guessing that on average a possession lasts about 20 seconds. That makes 3 possessions per minute and 120 total in a 40 minute game. That means we had 60 possessions and turned the ball over on 1 of every 3 times we had it. Many of them occurred because we dribbled into trouble. Sheppard dribbled into the paint and them lost it, Margarity had an unforced error in the back court, Mabry palmed the ball in the front court when she was not even contested, just to name a few. Baptiste turns it over trying to handle the ball when she is not a ball handler. I find myself screaming at them to pick the ball up as they start to get into trouble, but they never pick it up and pass it, they continue until they lose it. Makes me wonder just what they practice when the one area which needs the most improvement never gets any better. They could have beaten FSU, Syracuse, Clemson and uva had they just handled the ball better.

Back to the piss poor officiating. Clemson #55 Bennett committed an illegal screen on every possession she was on the floor. She was moving near the top of the key, never had her feet set, throwing her shoulder into our player, then the ball handler would pass the ball to a wide open shooter in the corner for a 3. On the play when Magarity fouled out, she did this 1 second before the pass went to the player Magarity fouled. She should have been called for the illegal screen and Magarity would have stayed in the game. I have to wonder, if earlier in the game, anyone on our bench pointed out to the refs to watch for the illegal screens, or if the perceived complacent attitude prohibited such conversation. Maybe there is no need to demand better performance from the refs if you are not going to demand better performance from your players. (or yourself)
