We'll never know. There was no good argument for keeping him.
Memphis sucked on D, so I'm not sure CJF was the best at assessing D hires. In the post-Scott scramble, Foster may not have had much of a choice. Based on our secondary regression last year, it's an easy case for Foster to make to try things his way this year.
The argument here was that Nix "didn't know the system yet" or "who else could we have hired?..."well now we can find out.
