Yeah, Nike employees are all paid the same


and required to go to class to earn that pay...that's not really pay but free education. And look at all those VT football shareholders and the dividend money they're raking in, not to mention what they'll make when they sell their shares! And don't forget the presence of the member-driven NSMA (National Sportswear Makers Association) making rules about how Nike will collaborate with it's competitors to decide how to ensure a level playing field.

Perhaps you need to think a little more. It's not a business. The presence of lots of money doesn't make it so. The fact that it's closely associated with the big business of TV doesn't make it so. Dorms sure as heck don't. The fact that you cite "fans paying for scholarships" as evidence that's a business demonstrates is pretty curious...is that anything like how Nike works? Are donors endowing scholarships to ensure that Nike workers can have 5 years of free education?

As I said, there are elements that certainly are business-like. But to just throw a blanket "it's a business" argument out there to justify actions you'd like to see is off-base.
