I was on maternity leave when I received the call that my division was

being disbanded. I was able to finish out my maternity leave. I had a month to look for a job. Then my severance package kicked in. By that time, I had found a new job with a 25% bump in pay. I 'drove' my severance package for 18 years.

And I went back to my former employee eleven months later. Although they wouldn't agree to the entire 25% additional pay, I did receive all of my benefits back (stock options, tenure, pension) as if I'd never left.

They later amended their rehire policy
