They are getting the cars from auction mostly and they are often coming from all over the east coast but primarly North via the Manheim acutions. You do NOT want a PA, NY or pretty much any other north eastern car. Stick with VA/NC cars which will have much less road salt damage. You can usually just look at the underside of the cars and know without pulling the Carfax where it used to reside. If you stick with it though you can usually find a reasonable private party person that will be the original owner and have all the maintenance records.
